LEGISLATIVE IT DEVELOPER
Location: Bismarck
Salary: $5,000 per month or more depending on experience and qualifications.

Summary of Work:
Developers perform information technology business application analysis, design, and development for the legislative branch consisting of attorneys, accountants, researchers, and administrative staff.
Basic Functions:
Individuals in this position must provide industry best practices, principles, guidelines, and skills and abilities to support, analyze, design, enhance, and develop custom software applications.

- Develop, implement, and maintain system documentation, technical diagrams, procedures, standards, utilization, and security of the legislative information and systems
- Research new technologies and demonstrate forward thinking by recommending new technologies, evaluating alternatives, providing advanced system functionality, and applying industry trends
Knowledge in:
- Installing, updating, and configuring software development tools and libraries
- Coding complex application software components, identifying and documenting test scenarios, and assisting with system and acceptance testing
- Python, Django, HTML, CSS, SQL databases, building complex software solutions for web applications, building business applications using Scrum/Agile development techniques, and queue-based business processes
- Performing analysis for complex tasks within complex applications and delivering analysis recommendations
- Designing business flows, data models, process, and visual presentations to ensure requirements are met and the application is intuitive
- Gather project requirements and use cases by meeting with staff, reviewing current application procedures, and collaborating with supervisor or peers
Minimum qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer information systems, or a related field. An associate degree in a computer-related field and 2 years of industry experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree requirement. Three years of current, progressive, and specialized work experience in information technology business application analysis, design, and development is preferred, but not required.
