Salary: $50,000 per year or more depending on experience and qualifications.

Summary of Work:
Legislative editors perform formatting, editing, proofreading, and final review of legislation, memorandums, publications, and other documents for the legislative branch consisting of attorneys, accountants, researchers, and administrative personnel.
Basic Functions:
Individuals in this position must provide skilled editing abilities that conform to the styles of the legislative branch using resource materials and applying proper judgment in decisionmaking; identify and help resolve inconsistencies; and evaluate logical flow and readability of documents for nontechnical readers for legislation, memorandums, publications, and other documents prepared by attorneys and fiscal analysts. Candidates must have a basic understanding of current technology and software applications and systems while maintaining a high degree of accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.

- Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and legal and legislative terminology
Minimum qualifications:
Requires an undergraduate or graduate degree that reflects advanced skills in critical reading and editing or at least 4 years of direct editing experience.
